List of Aquarium Clubs & Groups
Posted by Matt Buschbacher on
Joining a local aquarium club is one best things you can do as a hobbyist. Whether you are just starting out in the hobby, or if you are a seasoned aquarist, local clubs provide an invaluable resource, support, information and are one of the best ways to stay active with your hobby.
Most local clubs have an annual membership fee to cover operating expenses, meet once a month (or more often), have a website and/or a social media page, and provide a great way to meet other hobbyists in your area. Aquarium clubs vary based on the type of aquarium you have. Most are dedicated to a specific type of aquarium (ie; reef and marine tanks, freshwater plant & live bearers, cichlids or discus breeders, etc.)
Many aquarium clubs have equipment and supplies donated to them from manufacturers and local fish stores (LFS), and hold raffles at their meetings where they give away the donated items to raffle winners. The money from the raffles is then used to secure a venue for meetings, hire notable speakers in the hobby to give presentations, and to host coral frag swaps, fish swaps, plant swaps, etc.
Below is a list of aquarium clubs in the USA & links to active groups on social media. If you have a group or club and would like to have it listed here, please send us an email with your club's information and a link to your website or social media page.
