Tuesday Tech Tips - How to Calibrate a Digital pH Probe

Posted by Matt Buschbacher on

Digital pH probes make checking or monitoring your aquarium pH a quick and simple process. To ensure accurate readings, it is recommended that you calibrate your digital pH probe occasionally. Here's how to make sure you get accurate readings from your digital pH probe.

Dip the tip of the electrode in a sample of pH 7.01 buffer at room temperature. Allow the reading to stabilize.

Use a small screwdriver to adjust the pH 7 trimmer until the display read "7.01".

Rinse the electrode with water and dip it in a sample of pH 10.01 buffer solution. Allow the reading to stabilize.

Using a small screwdriver, adjust the pH 10 trimmer until the display reads "10.01".

Calibration is now completed and you can enjoy quick and accurate pH readings!
